Some Singles

A utility release of a bunch of songs that have been in the pipeline for a while.

Some Singles is a utility release of a bunch of solo songs that have been in the pipeline for a while. They all feel like singles to me, but in the digital world it makes sense to gather them all under one release. I think more songs will be added over time.

There are two new songs: You’d Have Thought and What Is Home Without You?.

You’d Have Thought was finished a while ago. I’ve been waiting for a b-side to come to me to go with it so it could be released. At one time I thought that song might have been The Path, but I think that deserved to be listened to in it’s own right. It’s an a-side as well.

Then What Is Home Without You? came along. It took less than a week from having the idea to a finished release. Written for the The Public Song Project competition from US radio station WNYC and the Internet Archive, it’s a reworking of a song in the public domain -What is home without a mother by Alice Hawthorne.

Again, it’s really a stand alone release, but suddenly putting them all together under on album started to make sense.

In the mean time I’ve been working on a new song with Jehanne that I hope to have finished soon, and have been doing a bit of noise making with another friend that may or may not have a future outlet.
